Learn to inference story facts from the description and train logical reasoning ability.

Listening 、imitation and Cooperation learning strategies.

學習準備:

An audio , a strage set for a role-play game.

導學過程;:

1. 溫故互查:Close the books, try to write the words below.

a) _________ (小心,謹防)of being too impatient with others...

b) If something is_______(空的,空缺的), it is not being used by anyone.

c) The _______(量,數(shù)額)of something is the amount of it that there is.

Ask No.3 students to show the words on their blackboards. The others check the answers each other.

2導入:Show the three words : beware, vacant, volume.

Ask students to have a try to read them. Say:Can you read them correctly? Can you find /w/ and /v/ ? This lesson let’s solve the problems. At the same time,we’ll also play a role-play game: interviewing a suspect. Do you have great interest?

Show the learning aims: Students read the aims together.

3. 設問導讀:

A Talk time

a) Play the audio, students only listen.

Play the audio again, students repeat the words. Then give them several minutes to read in pairs. Check each other till they can distingguish the pronunciation beween /w/ and /v/.

Teacher gives directions: As the /w/ changes to /v/, you should feel the sudden change in position as your lower lip retracts behind your upper teeth.

b) Do ExA2 and A3. Model the words slowly to the class, and then let them repeat. Call several groups of students to read the words aloud.

c) Do Ex A4 and A5.. First try to read, then model the words to class.

Teacher gives directions: Point out that the vowel in an unstressed syllable in English is usually reduced.

d) Model the words in ExA6 and ask them to choose the stressed syllable. Check the answers.

B Speak up

a) Ask students to read the conversation in B1 in pairs. Help each other to solve any problems in the language. Then cooperate to use this pattern below to explain any other differences between the stories of the two boys by speaking.

Michael said that … but Andrew said that …

b) Then ask them to explain the points where the two stories were the same, using this pattern:

They both said …

c)Students find out the way that Detective Ken tricks Andrew by saying that Michael said that they met at 4:30 p.m.

d) Ask several pairs to report their answers. Others listen and give the evaluation.

4. 自我檢測: Close the books. Try to translate the sentences.

a) 昨晚下午6:00-11:00 你在哪里?

b) 你們?nèi)チ四膫電影院?

c) 你們怎樣去哪兒的?

d) 電影院是滿的還是空的?

e) 電影名是什么?

f) 你們坐在哪兒?

Students work in pairs. One asks, the other answers. Check the memory each other.

5. 鞏固訓練 Offer a strage set.

Do ExB2. Ask students to play the game in groups of four. Give students one to two minutes to make up a false story about what they did together last night. Two burglars prepare the story; the other two prepare six to ten questions.

Ask two groups to show their conversations, the others discuss the details of the story.

6. 拓展探究:Read the joke to relax yourself. Can you understand it?

A detetive arrested a criminal and was about to handcuff him when a huge gust of wind blew the detective's hat off.

"Shall I go and fetch it?" the criminal asked.

"Do you take me for a fool?" asked the detective."You wait here while i go and get it!"

Work in pairs to read and translate the story.

7. 小結(jié):

a)Students make a summary of this lesson.

Teacher has emotion education.

b) Homework:

Practise the conversation in B1.

Preview “ writing a report of a crime”, and remember the words in the next lesson.
