First Period(1a-2a)

The way of design for t Unit 2

Complete the Unit by three tasks,ask Ss to master “Is this your pencil?/his /her .During the procedures ,learn the language targets and communications and help each other

Task 1

The task can help students talk about classroom things and find their abilities in learning language .Understand “Is this your pencil? And Yes, it is /No,it isn’t

Task 2

Review numbers from one to ten in English and give some special example in daily life ,such as 119,110.120…

Step 3

Learn how to write the “Lost and Found” in English ,meanwhile ask students how to a qualified citizen.

Subjects: some school things(1a-2a)

Language goal:Ss learn to talk about ownership.

Is this your pencil? Is thata his notebook? Yes, it is. No, it isn’tHow do you spell pencil?

Teaching procedures

Step1

Paper bag to put classroom objects in for activity 4.and hold up some personal things and say: This is my book .That is his pen.and hold your pen and ask a student,Is this your pen?

Step 2

Start by locating items in the classroom, hold each of them and say its name.Ask the Ss to repeat.Such as dictionary,book,notebook,pencil case ,pencil sharpener.after that,help Ss find it in their books.

Step 3.

Ask students to match the words and objects in the picture by writing the letter of the object on the blank line after the word

Step 4.

Listen to the tape and focus attention on the three conversations and point out the boxes where students will write a number for each conversation. And check the answers. ,read the conversations in pairs.

Step 5

Start by the tape and ask the students to check the mark in the blank after each item whose nameis mentioned in the conversation. And point to the words in the box and ask students to read them aloud.Ask them to point the blank lines in the conversation ,write one of the words from the box.

Step 5

Practice the conversation in the picture with a student then check the pronunciation of Ss’ and review the grammar box .

Point out that the word that shows ownership comes before the item we are talking about.

Step 6 Homework

The Second period(2c-4b)

Step 1

Review the details :Is this your pencil? What’s that in English? Repeat what were learned last period

Read the conversation in pairs

Step 2

Ask the students to act in possession of objects in the room and pay more attention on their pronunciation

And play the recorder to point out the words from the box .start the new period with 2c.

Step 3

This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language and vocabulary and ask the students to practice the example conversation in3.Move around the room checking on their work and point out the pictures of the ruler, pen ,eraser and dictionary .Ask the students to say the names of each picture.

Step 4

Ask students to work in pairs again. Have them practice the conversation again, substituting the words shown in the pictures and make a dialogue as an exercise for students to do according to the 2c.

Step4

This activity provides oral practice using the target language and vocabulary. Play a game as you will put some classroom things in a paper bag-your pen ,your pencil or something else, another one will take them out one by one and ask whose it belong to.

Step 5

Repeat the instruction using the paper bag ,borrow a pencil from a student and put in the bag and ask another one to take it out using “Is this your pencil? Repeat more until all of the students are clear. By using “What is this in English?”

It is a pen. Can you spell it? P-E-N,pen

Step 6

Play a guess game and make a short dialogue as homework
